Demand for traditional framework of Sunni Islamic studies
Past experience has highlighted the following:
Milton Keynes currently has various Muslim groups, some based on nationality, others based on way of thought and others more general. There is currently no independent organisation with the sole aim of teaching the traditional framework of Sunni Islam.
Whilst small, there is a steady and continued demand from a group of people who are interested in studying the traditional framework of Sunni Islam on a regular basis. The 2011 census shows that in Milton Keynes there were over 12,000 Muslims (4.8% of the population), the highest religious category after Christians.
Therefore, although a small beneficiary there is a steady demand which could potentially grow as the concept of learning through Lote Tree becomes widespread.
